Job Description

The Field Supervisor will manage the day-to-day field operations of the assigned work team at various site locations. Duties include managing the work schedules of the field staff, adjusting them as needed, and ensuring all payroll is completed, approved, and submitted. In addition, this role will build good working relationships with customers, resolve customer complaints in an efficient manner, communicate with the Manager and Assistant Manager of Field Operations, and support the installation and removal of various sized events such as festivals and corporate events.

Essential Functions

  • Attends meetings with clients and conducts pre-install and post-install inspections with clients.
  • Ensures the right checklists are used for both set up of jobs and tear downs.
  • Trains all field staff on the safe usage of all installation machinery and equipment.
  • Ensures that employees comply with company policy, including reviewing and coaching any attendance issues, clocking in and out appropriately, and following behavior and conduct guidelines as outlined by the Employee Guide.
  • Assures that all company vehicles, machinery, and rental products are maintained in a safe and clean condition for operation.
  • Communicates with Sales, Warehouse Manager, and field crew leaders for any updates, questions, or needs they may have.
  • Develops and maintains training programs for all staff on installation of all products and services offered and monitors their performance and progress.
  • Works closely with Crew Leads and Warehouse Managers to communicate requirements of equipment needed for jobs.
  • Provides great customer service and effectively resolves customer concerns.
  • Complies with all government safety requirements and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Manages 3–5 crews; about 12–20 employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Trains all field staff on the safe usage of installation machinery and equipment.
  • Reviews, adjusts, edits, and submits all timecards for review and approval, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Develops and maintains training programs for all staff on installation of products and services offered, and monitors their performance and progress.

Work Environment

  • Works outdoors in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun, or rain.
  • Also works in a warehouse/indoor environment.
  • Often uses safety attire and equipment such as vests, masks, gloves, etc.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as in company/delivery vehicles or when sharing or entering office space.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
  • Hours worked/scheduled are generally more than 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required or scheduled as needed.
  • Work may be across seven (7) days a week based on event; on-call availability may also be required when events are booked at a moment’s notice.

Educational, Technical, and Computer Skills

  • Rental software or warehouse management system knowledge and experience.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel knowledge and experience.
  • Experience driving 16′ and 26′ trucks.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Two to four years of warehouse, delivery, or routing management experience.
  • Must be able to provide a valid Driver’s License and a clean DMV record without major infractions (DUIs, suspensions, etc.).
  • Able to pass a background check, DOT pre-employment physical, and a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Technical ability; experience with computers and software knowledge.
  • Driver/route experience. CDL is recommended, but not necessary.
  • Construction or other outdoor field work experience.
  • Three months tent installation experience.
  • Bi-lingual / ability to speak Spanish.
  • 2 years of crew management.

Physical Demands

  • Works outdoors in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun, or rain.
  • Also works in a warehouse/indoor environment that does not have air conditioning.
  • Must be able to lift approximately 20–40 lbs. consistently; occasionally up to 70 lbs.
  • May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.

Travel Required

  • Daily, to and from job sites.
  • Personal and company vehicles (trucks).
  • Out of state, with one or multiple overnight stays.
