At Classic Tents & Events, we don’t just rent equipment; we build the stage for life’s biggest moments. We are looking for a skilled Restoration & Sewing Specialist to join our warehouse team. We need a craftsman who can handle heavy-duty vinyl and fine linens with equal precision.This isn’t just a warehouse job—it is a technical role dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and “like-new” restoration of our high-end vinyl inventory and event linens.
What We’re Looking For:
- Sewing Expertise: Proven experience with heavy-duty/industrial sewing machines and thick materials (leather, vinyl, or upholstery).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 20-40 lbs consistently (and up to 70 lbs occasionally) in a dynamic warehouse environment.
- Flexibility: We work when the events happen! You should be available for weekend work and overtime during our peak seasons.
- The Right Mindset: You are a “go-getter” who is detail-oriented, respectful, and bilingual (English/Spanish is a plus!).
Responsibilities:
Vinyl Repair
- Responsible for routine maintenance, repair and adjustment of vinyl (tops, walls, gutters and covers).
- Determine what type of seams and different types of seams to use.
- Repair area inventory (damaged vinyl)
- Replacement of Keder (tops and walls).
- Replacement of damaged skirts (tops and walls).
- Replacement of damaged closures, clips, straps, roll (tops and walls).
- Replacement of damaged inventory.
- Manufacture and sewing of new materials containing vinyl.
- Adjustment of the material if the contract requires it for materials with vinyl.
- Creation of repair patterns for materials with vinyl.
- Keep the repair area clean and tidy.
- Make daily reports of the activities carried out.
- Collaborate with the cleaning and folding of the material created, repaired or modified.
Linens
- Label linen (Classic labels with measurements).
- Weekly inventory of linen (dirty and clean).
- Classification of linens by grade (A, B, C).
- Send dirty linens to be washed.
- Receive clean linens.
- Check inventory of clean linens. (The quantities that were dirty must be the same as those received clean).
- Control the order of the area assigned for linen.
- Periodically check the conditions of the stored linens.
- Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to customers.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of heavy-duty sewing machine usage; Consew, Janome.
- Sewing light to heavy-weight materials such as leather, vinyl, upholstery, synthetics, canvas and various coated and laminated products.

Work Environment:
- Often works in a warehouse/indoor environment that does not have air conditioning.
- May occasionally work outdoors, in weather conditions such as heat, cold, sun or rain.
- Wears safety attire when in the warehouse, such as vests, masks, gloves, etc.
- May work in close proximity to other people, such as when sharing or entering office space.
- May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds or noise levels.
Requirements:

Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of rental industry and Tents set up.
- Sewing Machine, Vinyl and linen repair knowledge.
- Three months of rental/warehouse/general cleaning experience is a plus.
- Bi-lingual/ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
